Supporting the People Who Support Cambridge

Behind every public service, community program, and municipal infrastructure project in Cambridge, you will find the members of CUPE Local 1882. As municipal inside workers, we are the operational, administrative, technical, and professional backbone of the City of Cambridge.

From keeping our roads and buildings safe to running community programs, managing city records, and delivering essential administrative support, our work touches every corner of daily life in our city.

Our Work in the Community

We are proud to serve Cambridge residents, businesses, and visitors across several key sectors:

  • Administration, Finance & Operations: Managing city records, purchasing, tax collection, customer service, and essential clerical support.

  • Planning, Building & Development: Guiding city growth, inspecting structures, preserving heritage, and upholding municipal bylaws.

  • Community Development, Recreation & Care: Running day camps, supporting seniors, coordinating inclusive programming, and organizing local events.
