About CUPE Local 1882 

CUPE Local 1882 represents the municipal inside workers employed by the Corporation of the City of Cambridge. From processing building permits and managing city records to coordinating recreation programming, delivering IT support, and assisting residents at City Hall, our members deliver the essential services that keep Cambridge connected, organized, and running smoothly every day.

Our union works to defend our collective agreement, bargain fair wages and health benefits, maintain safe working environments, and champion high-quality public services.

  • Administration & Finance: Accounts payable/receivable, tax officers, customer service representatives, cemetery records clerks, and administrative support representatives & assistants.

  • Planning, Building & Development: Planners, building inspectors, GIS analysts, Construction Inspectors, and heritage planners.

  • IT & Operations Support: Business systems analysts, database administrators, and network technicians.

  • Community & Recreation: Recreation coordinators, arts and inclusion program programmers, senior day program staff, and accessibility coordinators.
