At our General Membership Meeting on April 14, 2026, a motion was brought forward to submit a Letter of Intent to the City of Cambridge to enter into a sponsorship agreement for the new scoreboard at the Kin1 Accessible Ball Diamond for the next ten years. The motion was seconded and carried by the membership.
Following that approval, the Letter of Intent was accepted by the City and subsequently brought before Council for final consideration. We are proud to share that Cambridge City Council has now approved the sponsorship agreement, and the new scoreboard will proudly display the CUPE Local 1882 name.
This sponsorship represents an investment of $55,000 over 10 years and supports the ongoing transformation of the Kin1 Accessible Ball Diamond into a more accessible and inclusive recreational space for residents of all ages and abilities. The project includes accessibility enhancements such as artificial turf, covered dugouts, improved spectator seating, paved pathways, and the installation of the new scoreboard.
